and what makes the cedars a unique, cultural, community

the fourteenth annual cedars open studios

For the past thirteen years Cedars Neighborhood Artists have opened their doors to the public for one day to showcase the talent, creativity and vibrant lives of the artists that work and live here. This free event draws thousands of visitors, from all walks of life, to explore the neighborhood studios, learn about art, shop and enjoy local bars and restaurants.

Visit the cedars artists in their homes and studios – as independently unique as the individual artwork created within, whether it's glass blowing, photography, painting, sculpture or expressive hula-hoop dancing, you won’t want to miss a single one!

Bowman Art Glass
The Bowmans have been creating glass art 1978 and have had their studio in the Cedars neighborhood for the past 15 years. They work with many glass-forming processes, including furnace blowing, kiln-forming, and sand casting.
Albert Scherbarth
Custom-designed steel art for the home. Inert industrial forms, coerced by fire and force, give way to graceful twists, bends and curls that organically intersect and give structural support. Elegantly rugged with a rich patina that will continue to age, the Scherbarth Steel/Home Collection is modern, industrial and timelessly beautiful.
In 1997 I co-founded a boutique clay/design studio where getting dirty was part of our job and I developed a love for handmade soaps during that time. The transition into making soap was organic, the process is surprisingly similar to working with clay. After many life changes, soap has remained a constant and is now my primary creative outlet.
